Rosé Rumble 2025: Pink Perfection Powered by Grenache

On Saturday, April 5th, Camino was thrilled to be a part ofRosé Rumble 2025 in Adelaide — a fantastic celebration of South Australia’s thriving rosé scene! The atmosphere was buzzing, the wines were flowing, and it was a pleasure to connect with so many familiar faces and fellow wine lovers throughout the day.

We were delighted to see ourCamino Rosé shine as a real crowd-pleaser — and even more excited that the rest of the Camino range got plenty of praise too. A massive thank you to everyone who stopped by, had a chat, and shared a glass (or two!) with us. We are grateful for the love.

The star behind our Rosé is undoubtedly Grenache. It is an absolute gem! Not only is it incredibly expressive and aromatic, but it also brings a unique ability to balance vibrant fruit, subtle spice, and textural elegance, whether in a bold red or a delicate, dry rosé like ours.

For our2023 Camino Rosé, we used fruit from the historic Block 3B at Hemera Estate — with Grenache vines dating back to 1912. These old vines were carefully nurtured with bunch thinning and leaf plucking to coax out intense varietal flavours and natural acidity. Daily sampling helped us lock in the perfect pick date, ensuring maximum freshness and character.

This Grenache was handpicked specifically for rosé, gently crushed and given a short maceration to build colour and natural fruit tannin. After a gentle press, the juice underwent a natural ferment in stainless steel at cool temperatures and matured on full lees for six months — giving the final wine extra texture and complexity.

Expect subtle aromas of cantaloupe, wild strawberry, red currant, morello cherry, pink peppercorn, and a touch of gunflint. The palate is all aboutred apple skin, ruby grapefruit with rhubarb flavours abound with textural fruit sweetness, balanced with fine fruit phenolics with crunchy apple acid focus and a dry and a refreshing finish.

Rosé can be so much more than you expect. This one is food-friendly, elegant, and a great example of what Grenache can do. And is seriously delicious!

Cheers!
